Since graduating from the University of Strathclyde in 2008 with a BA (Hons) in Applied Music, Mark has worked predominantly in musical theatre as a musical director, keyboard player, audition/rehearsal pianist and arranger.
He is currently Assistant Musical Director on the West End production of Mean Girls at the Savoy Theatre in London.
Other theatre credits include Musical Director for the UK & International Tour of Mamma Mia! and Assistant Musical Director for the UK Tour of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. As a freelance keyboard player, Mark has played on a number of West End shows including Back to the Future (Adelphi Theatre), Operation Mincemeat (Fortune Theatre) and Mamma Mia! (Novello Theatre).
Further credits include Cover MD / dep keyboards on the original UK Tour of Dreamgirls; Cover MD on the UK Tour of Fame; dep keyboards on Rebecca (Charing Cross Theatre), the UK Tours of Starlight Express and Blood Brothers. He has also worked on a number of pantomimes as a musical director, arranger and keyboard player. Mark also occasionally works with AIDA Cruises as musical supervisor for their onboard productions and has served as Musical Director for a variety of concerts and events around the UK.
Mark’s strong sight-reading and accompaniment skills in a variety of styles has led to regular work for a number of the UK’s top casting directors and producers as an audition pianist and rehearsal pianist.
He has also completed Levels 1 & 2 of the Estill method and is a proficient user of industry standard software including Sibelius, Logic Pro, MainStage and QLab.
